US to take back more citizens

The US government will send a second chartered flight to Dhaka on Sunday to take back its citizens and their family members, who seeks voluntary return to home due to the Covid-19.

“The US Department of State and US Embassy in Bangladesh have arranged a special chartered flight for US citizens and their families departing Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday, April 5, “the US Embassy in Dhaka said, in a  press release, on Friday.

However, the US embassy did not disclose the number of returnees.

Earlier, on March 30, the first batch of 269 US citizens, including several diplomats and their family members left Dhaka in a charted flight.

Mentionable, a total of 327 foreign nationals, including 295 Japanese citizens flew to Japan from Bangladesh on April 2 by a chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines following coronavirus situation in the country.
