Navy creating awareness among sea fishermen

A total of nine ships of Bangladesh Navy are deployed in the sea and coastal areas to alert fishermen and their family members to prevent covid-19 popularly known as coronavirus across the country.

The local fishermen working in small trawlers and fishing boats are being alerted by Navy members to maintain regular social distances to prevent transmission. Besides, various required suggestions are being made to create awareness among their families of the areas.

Besides, masks and disinfectant soap are being provided to ensure the safety of fishermen. Apart from this, various relief goods, including rice, pulses and others food items are also being provided to the underprivileged people.

In order to raise the awareness among the fishermen, the naval vessels —- Bangabandhu and Nimul are working in in the deep sea of Saint Martin, BNS Nirbhoy in Cox’s Bazar, BNS Saikat in Kutubdia, BNS Padma in Patharghata, BNS LCT 104 in Barguna, and BNS LCU 03 in Bhashan Char, BNS Dhaleshwari in Payra Port and BNS Tista in Chandpur.

The Navy contingent has been deployed in the sea and coastal areas to assist the civilian administration in implementing the directives of the government. The vigilance activities of the naval vessels and the contingent will continue until the overall situation in the country improves.
