Bashundhara Group stands by corona-hit poor people

 Bashundhara Group has started initiative to reach food to underprivileged people who became workless following a countrywide lockdown due to the coronavirus situation.

Volunteers include officials of the country’s leading business conglomerate went door to door of the low-income people and distributed combo packets of food among 2,000 families in different areas of the capital on Sunday.

Consisting in three groups, officials and volunteers began activities from International Convention City Bashundhra (ICCB) and moved around Beraid, Doomni and Solmaid areas in the capital.

A combo food pack contains 10 kilograms of miniket rice, 2kg lentil, half kg ginger, 1 litre of fresh soyabean oil, 2kg potato, 2kg onion and half kg garlic.

Bashundhara Group Senior Executive Director Imrul Hasan, Executive Director Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin and Executive Director Nazmul Alam Bhuiyan were in the teams for the food distribution. Officials went door to door and reached the food. They said the programme will be extended in other areas and it will continue until the situation becomes normal.

Taking to the Daily Sun, Bashundhara Group Executive Director Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin said that Bashundhara Group always stands by the people for the betterment of the country.

“As the low-income people are worst sufferers from the lockdown, we have begun our initiative to support people to save them from hunger,” he said.

Mahbub also said that the company will continue the social initiative until the lockdown situation becomes normal.
