National Action and Coordination Group (NACG), Bangladesh, a civil society platform of SAARC, called on all concerned, including the government, to give priority to child protection issue while raising awareness about coronavirus, said a press release.

The issue of children should get priority amid the outbreak of coronavirus.

While giving its proposition on the current situation, NACG said, street and unaccompanied children need to be registered by the local authorities on a priority basis and they should be placed at temporary shelters.

Instead of spreading fear among the tender minds, steps should be taken to make the children aware and provide them with masks.

For children, separate and special provisions must be created within the health care system, added the statement.

It urged families, community and the government to work together to ensure good health of all the children.
