Kolkata Press Club to privilege Bangladeshi journos: KPC Chief

Bangladeshi journalists will get privilege to use the space and media centre of Kolkata Press Club (KPC) to strengthen the bilateral cooperations in professional field, chief of the organisation said.

Kolkata Press Club President Snehasis Sur made the comments while a group of Bangladeshi journalists, who are attending an ITEC Course now in India, called on him at his office in Kolkata, India on Saturday night.

During the meeting, the KPC Chief also emphasised on people to people relations to bring the tie between two neighbouring countries—Bangladesh and India into a new height.

Any Bangladeshi journalist representing Jatiya Press Club of Bangladesh or other national organisations will get access to the media centre and other spaces of the club showing identity card for professional purpose, he said.  In addition, various issues on news management of both the countries were discussed.

They also mentioned the contributions of Indian journalists during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.  Snehasis also appreciated the role of Bangladesh in enriching the Bangla language which helps the professionals and cultural activists in West Bengal.

Snehasis also introduced a book on contributions of Kolkata Press Club in liberation movement of Bangladesh where war time experiences.
