Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019-20 will resume from Sunday after a recess of four days following Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman National Under-17 Gold Cup and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib National Under-17 Gold Cup at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

BPL Runners-up Dhaka Abahani Ltd will face Fed Cup Runners-up Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society in the last match of third round between on the day at 6:30 pm.

The fourth round will start from Monday with three matches at two different venues. Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd will face Arambagh Krira Sangha at 3:30pm and Uttar Baridhara Sporting Club will face Brothers Union Limited at 6:30pm while Chittagong Abahani Limited will host Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the day’s other match at 6:30pm at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram.    

According to the updated points table, Defending champions Bashundhara Kings have reached the summit of ongoing 13-team league securing 7 points with two wins and a draw from three matches. They scored 5 goals while conceded 3.  

BPL Champions edge past Uttar Baridhara Club by 1-0 goal in the opening match of the league, played out a 1-1 goal draw with Bangladesh Police Football Club in the second match and secured 3-2 goals win over Brothers Union Ltd in their third match.

Saif Sporting Club are at the second spot securing 7 points with two wins and a draw. They scored 4 goals while conceding 2.  Saif beat both Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society and Dhaka Mohammedan SC Limited by the identical margin 1-0 goal in their first two matches before playing 2-2 draw with Chittagong Abahani Ltd in their third match.

Dhaka Mohammedan Limited are at third spot securing 6 points with two wins and one defeat, Dhaka Abahani are at fourth earning 4 points with a win and a defeat, Chittagong Abahani are at fifth earning 4 points with one win, one draw and one defeat, Arambagh KS are at sixth securing 4 points with one win, one draw and one defeat, Bangladesh Police FC are at seventh securing 4 points with one win, one draw and one defeat, Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd are at eighth earning 3 points with one win and one defeat, Brothers Union are at ninth with 2 points from two consecutive draws and one defeat, and Sheikh Russel are at tenth with 2 points from two draws and one defeat.

Rahmatganj MFS and Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra are at the eleventh and twelfth slots respectively while Uttar Baridhara SC are in the bottom place.  Both Rahmatganj and Muktijoddha earned one point from one win and one draw each while Uttar Baridhara conceded two defeats and yet to open account.
