It was a day like no other day in the history of Bangladesh cricket. This day saw a spectacular win, an excellent victory for Tigers against Zimbabwe on the home soil after a gap of 15 months. The Tigers’ major victory at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday has finally ended their winning drought by beating Zimbabwe by an innings and 106 runs. The extraordinary Test win has been possible due to the right balance of the Bangladesh team to break the new ground. Spinner Nayeem Hasan’s nine wickets haul for 152 runs and Mushfiqur Rahim’s double ton have helped the Tigers to a great extent to taste the Test win ending their six-month losing streak. When it comes to the crunch, all of the Bangladeshi team mates can rise to the occasion and it was visible in their performance with batting and bowling as well as fielding. If anything, the superb win has proved that our cricket is not dependent merely on one or two players.

The Bangladeshi team booked the Zimbabwean players for 189 – their lowest total. The Tigers deserve our sincere appreciation for displaying their professional skill that one expects from a team that has been in the international arena for the past two decades.

The Tigers have entirely dominated what action there was to deservedly take the extraordinary honour. This win is a testament to the enormity of their achievement. The fact that the reward has come in the most historic match for Bangladesh cricket is the cherry on the top of the cake. It is indeed the proudest moment that the Bangladesh team experienced and the entire nation is so happy for the Tigers.

We firmly believe the Tigers will regularly keep striving for excellence and to get a reward like this we definitely have to be happy. The team should build on the win and make winning a habit and not an exception. We wish Tigers the very best for the days to come. Keep up the winning spirit!
