RANGPUR: Experts at a press briefing cum seminar on Tuesday stressed on media publicity to ensure safe, regular and quality migration of overseas jobseekers after turning them into skilled workforce by imparting necessary training.
The Gangachara upazila administration organised the event titled ‘Publicity, press briefing and seminar to create public awareness about safe, regular and quality migration’ at Officers’ Club in Gangachara upazila town of the district.
Gangachara upazila Vice-chairmen Shaju Ahmed Lal and Rabeya Begum, Officer-in-Charge of Gangachara Model Thana Shushanto Kumar Sarker and local union parishad Chairman Azizul Islam addressed as invited guests.
Assistant Director of the District Employment and Manpower Office Amena Parveen briefed the participating journalists on comprehensive steps taken by the government to ensure safe, regular and quality migration of overseas jobseekers.
Principal of Rangpur Technical Training Centre Lutfar Rahman discussed on the steps taken by the then government of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the present government led by Sheikh Hasina to ensure safe migration.
He said the government has taken special steps to create 1.28-crore skilled manpower to employ them both home and abroad in the next five years beginning from the Mujib Year.
“The BMET, Technical Training Centres and many other institutions are implementing the special steps to generate skilled workforce by imparting skill enhancing training on 55 trades,” he added.
