Abahani face Brothers Union today

Bangladesh Premier League Football (BPL) will start today after a day recess when Abahani Limited, Dhaka will take on Brothers Union Club Limited of their second round match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital.

The match kicks off at 6:30pm.

The six times BPL champions Abahani Limited got off to a winning start when they blanked Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-0 goals as Brothers Union Club played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, both their respective league opening matches.

Earlier on Thursday, former champions Sheikh Russel KC made 2nd consecutive draw after playing goalless draw with Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society in their 2nd match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Earlier in the first match, Sheikh Russel KC shared points with Brothers Union Club at their home venue in Sylhet.

After two league matches, Sheikh Russel KC remained winless and secured two points while Rahmatganj MFS opened their account first with one point from two league outings.

Sheikh Russel KC dominated the day’s match for most of the proceeding and created some good scoring chances, but failed to gain its benefits.

Rahmatganj coach Syed Golam Jilani said they defended very well and sometime made good counter attack on the touring Sheikh Russel KC.
