Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Rafiqul Alam said the university administration is committed to maintain peaceful and congenial academic atmosphere on the campus.

“We want to set example through developing the campus as a drug and ragging-free university,” he said.

The VC stated these while addressing an anti-drug and ragging related discussion organised as part of the year-long programmes marking the birth centenary of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the university campus recently.

The VC in his speech called upon the students to cooperate in making the green campus free from any offensive activity.

VC Rafiqul also made sudden visits to the university halls to monitor activities of the students.

He reminded the students about the zero tolerance stance of the university authority for the drug and ragging.

CUET Student Affairs Director Professor Dr Mohammad Mashiul Hoque presided over the discussion held in several phases.
