The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday interrogated councilor Farid Uddin Ahmed Ratan of Ward 20 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on charges of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income.

A team of the anti-graft body led by its deputy director Ataur Rahman Sarker questioned Ratan at the commission’s headquarters in the capital.

The commission on February 6 asked the ward councilor to appear at its head office in the capital for facing ACC interrogation over the graft allegation.

There is an allegation that councilor Ratan amassed a huge amount of wealth illegally following the business connection with suspended Juba League leaders Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Shamrat, Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan and controversial contractor GK Shamim.
