Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), Panchagarh has taken an initiative to prepare an online database of SMEs and cottage industries.
The database will be prepared based on geographical information system (GIS) under access to information (a2i) programme, says a BSCIC press release.In this regard, a meeting was held at the conference room of district administration of Panchagarh on Sunday with Deputy Commissioner Sabina Yeasmin in the chair.
Sabina thanked the BSCIC for the innovative initiative and said it will help get all in industry related information of the district at one platform.
BSCIC Deputy Manager Md Mahamudul Hassan informed that industries enlisted on the database will get e-commerce facility.
He also revealed the government plan regarding giving industrial loan priority.
Entrepreneurs of union digital centre in 43 upazilas will put data entry to help prepare the online database.
All the industrial entrepreneurs of the districts have been asked to communicate with union digital centre in this regard, for which district and upazila administration will extend help, the release said.Meanwhile, BSCIC, Panchagarh has rendered training to entrepreneurs of digital centres through workshop.
District Superintendent of Police, executive officer of zilla parishad, UNOs, upazilla chairmen, representatives of chambers and National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASCIB) also attended the meeting.
