Beauty of Barishal Beel Covered by Red Water Lily

There are a few small beels (water bodies) at Satla village in Agailjhara upazila of Barishal district. During rainy season, especially from June to September, the water bodies are filled to the brim with water assuming an undivided form.

Then it seems the nature has appeared with its varieties. At that time as far as anyone can see, the scenery of red water lilies gives rise to a different feeling. The more he/she goes deep inside the spot, the brightness of red water lily increases.

Here every year water lily blooms in water bodies covering an area of ten thousand acres. At this period, many people in and around the area eke out a living by selling water lilies.

Virtually, it becomes their main profession. Till now the spot remains out of tourists, but the state-run Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) should take initiatives to promote the spot as an attractive tourist spot. Ultimately, the country will be able to earn a lot by encouraging tourists  visit the beautiful beels full of red water lily.
