Precautionary measures taken by Bangladesh Missions in China

Amid outbreak of Coronavirus, the Bangladesh Missions in China has taken precautionary measures and in touch with the Bangladeshi students and researchers studying in Wuhan.

There are about 300 to 400 Bangladeshi students in Wuhan. Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing is in touch with Bangladeshi students and researchers in Wuhan, said the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The Embassy has established contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in case emergency supports were sought by the expatriates in Wuhan.

Official at the Embassy have been maintaining day to day contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China with regard to the safety of Bangladesh Expatriates in China.

As of Saturday, no news of any infection or death caused by coronavirus to any foreigners is reported.     

The Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing has opened a hotline number +86 178-0111-6005 on a 24/7 basis to reach out to any emergencies and the hotline number has been circulated to expatriate students and researchers.

In the outbreak of coronavirus in China and globally, Chinese officials have restricted transport in at least 13 cities besides the virus epicenter, Wuhan locking down close to 56 million nationals. The death toll rose to 41.
