KHULNA: A court in Khulna on Thursday denied bail to a former tax official in a case filed for embezzling over Tk 3 crore, reports UNB.
The accused is Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, former assistant tax commissioner of Khulna.
Senior Special Judge Md Shahidul Islam passed the order after hearing a petition filed by the accused, said Khandaker Mujibur, public prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The accused was arrested on October 16, 2019 over the case filed by the ACC for embezzling Tk 34,734,429 of taxpayers’ money from March 9, 2017 to April 17, 2019.
