CHATTOGRAM: The investigators on Thursday submitted the final report in the sensational case filed in connection with the alleged attempt to hijack an aircraft of Bangladesh Biman Airlines.

The report was submitted at Prosecution Section of the Chattogram Metropolitan Court.

The Investigation Officer (IO) Rajesh Barua of Counter Terrorism Unit said the final report was submitted as involvement of none except the deceased accused Polash Ahmed, 28, was found in the investigation.

Mentionable, the attempt to hijack the flight en route to Dubai from Dhaka was foiled after it made landing at the airport on February 24 afternoon last year.

All the 148 passengers, pilots and crewmembers on board the plane disembarked safely before the hijacker Polash Ahmed was killed in a commando operation.

The flight BG-147 was scheduled to go to Dubai from Dhaka after a stopover in Chattogram.
