CHATTOGRAM: The agitating faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University (CU) unit postponed the sudden strike demanding five-point till Sunday.

The BCL group ‘Bijoy’ led by the BCL former Organising Secretary Md Ilias announced the news after holding a meeting with the proctorial body on Thursday evening.

However, they also warned to continue the strike if the demands are not met by the ultimatum.

Their demands include arrest of CU BCL President Rezaul Haque Rubel and his associates involved with the attack inside Suhrawardy hall, expulsion of Rubel from the post and university and release of all the eight activists who were arrested from Suhrawardy Hall on Wednesday night.

CU Proctor SM Monirul Hasan said they will consider the demands if those are found logical.

“The shuttle trains will play from the night,” he said.

Mentionable, two factions of the BCL-run groups Bijoy and CFC locked into a clash over a trifling matter on Wednesday night.
