Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recently developed a mobile app which is aimed at curbing crimes along the border areas

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the mobile app called ‘Report to BGB’ on the occasion of BGB Day.

To use the app, Android users will have to install it from the ‘Play Store’ and from the ‘App Store’ on Apple devices. After installing the app, users need to ‘Open’. The type of crime (border killings, human trafficking, drugs, smuggling, firearms recovery, terrorist attacks, social media watch, arrests and others) should be selected according to the data.

Users of the application then should take a picture of the crime scene by clicking the camera icon or select the crime scene image from the gallery and have to provide a brief description of the crime scene.

The district and police station have to be selected where the crime was held. The informant can provide a brief description of himself as desired (optional). Clicking on the ‘Send’ icon will complete the process.
