CUET confce on Mechanical Engineering ends

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Rafiqul Alam observed that internet of things, robotics, virtual reality and artificial intelligence have been changing the life style and workplaces of people very frequently.

The VC said this while addressing as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of “5th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Renewable Energy (ICMERE-2019)” at a hotel in the port city on Thursday.

CUET Mechanical Engineering department organised the conference. The VC Professor Rafiqul in his speech said that the world has been advancing toward the fourth industrial revaluation. 

“We will have to lay emphasis on technology and innovation for taking the country forward keeping pace with the fast moving world,” he observed. The mechanical engineers can play imperative role in this regard and such conference will also help achieve the goal, he said.

The ICMERE-2019 Technical Committee President Professor Dr Sajal Chandra Banik presided over the conference while Mechanical faculty Dean Professor Dr Jamal Uddin Ahmed, departmental Head Professor Dr Sheikh Mohammad Humyun Kabir and Committee Secretary Dr Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Bhuiyan attended it as special guests.

Professor Dr Md Mostafizur Rahman, Professor Dr Prashanta Dutta and invited speaker Professor Dr Balasubramanian Essaki also spoke at the ceremony.

Over 300 teachers, researchers, scientists, entrepreneurs and professionals from 10 countries including USA, Australia, Japan, China, Canada, South Korea, India and Malaysia took part in the conference.
