Cultural arena all set to celebrate Victory Day

Today is the 49th Victory Day of the country. To mark the day in a befitting manner, cultural organisations have chalked up elaborate programmes.

Bangla Academy will begin its celebration programme by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar at 7:00am. 

Later, a discussion and a cultural programme will be held at Nazrul Manch of Bangla Academy at 04:00pm. Professor Syed Anwar Husain will speak at the programme while Director General of Bangla Academy Habibullah Siraji will deliver welcome address at the programme chaired by its Chairman Dr Anisuzzaman.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has also organised a two-day celebration programme, marking the Victory Day. 

The cultural programme featuring music, dance, art competition, poetry recitation, plays and more was launched at 6:00pm at National Theatre Hall of BSA on Sunday.

Besides, local satellite television channels and radio stations will air an array of quality programmes to celebrate the Victory Day.

Channel i, a leading satellite television of the country, will arrange a fair styled ‘Channel i Bijoy Mela 2019’ on its premises this morning. The fair will be inaugurated in present of valiant freedom fighters of the country at 11:05am. The channel will also telecast feature films, plays and movies based on the country’s Liberation War on the occasion.

ATN Bangla, a very popular TV channel of the country, will broadcast a special drama titled ‘Khoma Naai’ at 09:00pm.  Written by Sagor Jahan and directed by Kazi Salam, the play stars Tariq Anam Khan, Sharika, Naim and others.

Ekushey Television will air a set of programmes on the occasion today. The channel will telecast Bodh, a special telefilm, at 12:30pm today while ‘Gaaner Opare’, a musical programme, will be aired on the channel at 8.00pm.

NTV will air a special drama titled ‘Upolobdhi’ at 08:50pm today. Written by Mezbah Uddin Sumon and directed by Niaz Mahmud, the play stars Niloy Alamgir, Mim Mantasha, Dilara Zaman, Mohammad Bari, Saika Ahmed, Azam Khan and others. 

Two documentaries on Liberation War will be aired on Boishakhi TV today. ‘Ameder Ekattor: Operation Jackpot Mongla Port’ will be aired on 03:20pm and ‘Operation Nou Comand, Chattogram’ will be aired on 04:30pm on the channel. 

Bangla Vision will air a special drama titled ‘Juddhota Shobujer’ at 05:50.  Written by  Mezbah Uddin and directed by Sazzad Sumon, the play stars Shabnam Faria, Shujat Shimul, Shahir, Tinu and others. 

Duronto Television will air ‘Bijoyer Golpo’ at 9:00pm while ‘Meghnar-71’ will be aired at 3:00pm. Written and directed by Shamim Akter, the casts of ‘Meghnar-71’ are—Bonna Mirza, Shams Ud Doha, Sadia Yusum Brita, Kiana, Shahid Bahadur, Enahum Hasan Akash and Moumita Mehezabin Orpa.
