5th ICMERE kicks off at CUET today

The three-day “5th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Renewable Energy (ICMERE-2019)” kicks off at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) today.

Over 300 teachers, researchers, scientists, entrepreneurs and professionals from 10 countries including USA, Australia, Japan, China, Canada, South Korea, India and Malaysia will take part at the conference.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid will attend the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest at council room of the university. The conference organising committee secretary and Mechanical department Prof Dr Md Mizanur Rahman disclosed these at a press conference at the department seminar room on Sunday.

The conference chair and mechanical faculty Dean Prof Dr Jamal Uddin Ahmed, conference technical committee president and Mechanical department Prof Dr Sajal Chandra Banik, departmental Head Prof Dr Sheikh Mohammad Humyun Kabir and Publicity Sub-committee president and Mechanical department Assistant Professor Dr Md Sanaul Rabbi Pavel were present at the press conference among others.

In the conference, keynote papers on ‘Renewable Fuel Energy and Sustainable Development’ will be presented at different sessions organised by Mechanical Department of the university.

A total of 164 articles will be presented at 12 technical sessions of the conference.

Prof Dr Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman will present the keynote paper on ‘Solar Thermal Power with Energy Storage – A Pathway to Combat Global Warming” on first session of the conference. 

Dr Balasubramanian Esakki will present paper on ‘Insights on UAV Development for Multifaceted Industrial Applications’ and Prof Dr Prashanta Dutta on ‘Mechanical Characterisation of Biovesicles - A Connection Between Biology, Engineering and Medicine’ on the second and third sessions of the first day respectively.
