Three members of a family were found dead in an expatriate’s house at Saliya Bagpur village in Banaripara upazila of Barishal on Saturday.
On information, police recovered the bodies from the house of Abdur Rab, a migrant worker in Kuwait.The deceased were identified as Rab’s mother Mariam Begum, 70, his brother-in-law Shafiqul Alam, 60, and cousin Md Yusuf, 22.
Police Super Saiful Islam said all the deceased were found to have bled from their noses.
“None of them bore any injury marks. Deaths are being viewed as preplanned murders,” he also said.
“We have not heard anything about robbery. After the post-mortem, we can know the reason behind their deaths,” he added.
The police officer also said that seven people, including Rab’s wife, were at the house on Friday night.
Mariam’s college-going granddaughter had slept next to her before her death. But when she woke up at night, she found that her grandmother was not there.Later, she went looking for her and found Mariam’s body from the balcony of the house and Shafiqul’s from another room. The body of Yusuf was found near a pond behind the house.
The SP suspects that the killings might have occurred due to a land or a family disputes.”
