Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that corrupt leaders are now under their constant watch.

“Anti-corruption drive is going on. Punitive action will be taken against corrupt leaders in due course,” he said.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this while addressing the council session of Narail district Awami League at Narail Government Victoria College playground. The AL general secretary warned the leaders not to include controversial people in the committee.

“There is no need to hire activists from other party. None will be allowed to include relatives in the committee bypassing dedicated leaders,” he said. The minister said that dedicated and honest leaders will be evaluated. “All has to come forward to make Sheikh Hasina’s drive against violence, graft, drug and extortion a success,” he said.
