The farewell of 49th batch of Bengali department of Chittagong University (CU) was held at Arts Faculty Building on the campus on Tuesday.
The department Head Prof Dr Shafiul Azam Dalim inaugurated the programme by cutting a cake as the chief guest.He said the outgoing students of the department should involve themselves with research works in future to utilise their acquired knowledge.
“I wish bright future of them to enrich the Bengali literatures and cultures by good works,” he said.
A colourful procession was taken out from the department in the morning.
Later, two flash-mobs based on Bengali culture were displayed in front of the Arts faculty building and Zero Point on the campus.
Professor Dr Muhibul Aziz and Professor Md Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan addressed the programme among others.
Around 400 students of all batches of the department took part at the programme to bid farewell to the 49th batch.A cultural programme also followed the farewell ceremony.
