Ferdous Wahid to retire from music next year

Ferdous Wahid is a popular singer of the country, has completed four decades in the music industry recently. Wahid, one of the most celebrated icons of his time has won the heart of millions by his fabulous performance. He has also several hit songs of all times like—Mamooniya..., Agey Jodi Jantam.., and Eman Ekta Ma Dena. 

Earlier this year, the singer announced that he will be retiring from singing.

Talking about the issue, he said, “I am going to quit from this arena. I believe my time is up and at this age I can’t deliver my hundred percent. Now, I am working on my last project. The project includes twenty two songs, three movies with a few music videos. After completing my last project I will go for retirement in next year.” 

Among the Wahid’s last songs, five have been completed. The songs are — Tumi Amar Jibon, Papi, Ogo Amar Moyna, Chalar Pothe and Moira Gele. And rest of the songs will be completed within this year. Penned and tuned by Wahid himself, Mosharraf Azmi has arranged music of the songs.

All the twenty two songs will be released on the YouTube channel of Wahid Movies.

Besides singing, Wahid is busy with his directorial ventures Durdharsha Abhijaan, Nilam and Ichamoti.

On the other hand, the singer will perform at a stage show along his son Habib Wahid at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on November 29.  

Ferdous Wahid is a Bangladeshi pop singer and film director. He started his career in the 1970s. Some of his hit songs while starting his career were composed by Anis Z. Chowdhury, Lucky Akhond and Alam Khan. He made his directorial debut with the film Kusumpurer Golpo. His son Habib Wahid became a pop singer of the country too.
