College student stabbed to death by friend in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: A college student was stabbed to death allegedly by his friend over a previous dispute in the city’s Halishahar area on Thursday afternoon.

Police arrested the killer Md Saddam, 18, in this connection.

The deceased identified as Irfan Ahmed, 18, son of Md Idris of Moinna Para, was XI-class student of Mostafa-Hakim Degree College in the city.

Officer in-Charge (OC) SM Obaidur Rahman of Halishahar police station said Saddam and Irfan were friend and residents of the same area.

They locked in an altercation some four days back and Irfan slapped Saddam over the issue on that evening, he said.

Being infuriated, Saddam Stabbed Irfan with a sharp knife leaving him seriously injured in Boropole PDB Office area around 3:30pm on Thursday.

Irfan was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared him dead, said Nayek Abdul Hamid of the hospital police outpost.

The locals caught Saddam with the knife immediate after the incident, said OC Obaidur.
