Nusrat Jahan admitted to hospital

Actress and parliament member Nusrat Jahan has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after she complained of 'breathing problem'.

Jahan was taken to Apollo Hospital in Kolkata on Sunday after she reportedly complained of breathing problems, report agencies.

A statement released from her family said, "Nusrat was admitted to hospital due to a respiratory issue. She has a history of Asthma."

"Jahan is at ICU but in stable condition and conscious," it said. News of her falling sick due to medicine overdose was doing the rounds earlier, which the actor’s family rubbished later.  Nusrat Jahan is a Kalkata-based Indian film actress. Jahan's screen debut was in Raj Chakraborty's Shotru.

Earlier this year, during the Lok Sabha elections, Nusrat Jahan had defeated her nearest rival BJP’s Sayantan Ghosh by 3,50,369 votes. She won on a TMC ticket.

Soon after winning the elections, Nusrat Jahan tied the knot with Kolkata-based businessman Nikhil Jain in the Turkish town of Bodrum in June. The couple had later hosted a grand reception in Kolkata which was attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other celebrities from Bengal film industry.
