29 DU retired teachers given farewell

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman along with retired teachers poses for a photograph at a programme at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university on Saturday.

Dhaka University Teacher’s Association (DUTA) on Saturday accorded a reception to 29 university teachers who went on retirement.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman as chief guest attended the farewell programme held at  Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university campus, said a press release.

VC Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman handed over crest among the retired teachers in the programme, the press release added.

Presided over by DUTA President Professor Dr AS M Maksud Kamal the function was addressed by pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin, former DU VC Professor Dr AK Azad Chowdhury and Professor Dr SMA Faiz.

DUTA General Secretary Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam conducted the function.  Deans of different faculty, provosts of different hall and chairmen of different department were present on the occassion. In his speech, VC Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman hoped that their involvement with the university would continue in future. He wishes them good health and longevity.
