The two-day long third National Youth Archery Championship-2019 has started at Shaheed Ahsanullah Masters Stadium in the capital on Saturday.
Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) President Lt General MD Moinul Islam inaugurated the competition on the day while BAF General Secretary Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol was also present.On the first day of the qualification round, in the Recurve Junior Under-20 Men 70-meter round section, Mohammad Tamimul Islam became champion, scoring 664 out of 720 while Md Sakib Molla scored 654 to became the runner up in the event. In the Recurve Junior Under-20 Women round Mehnaz Akther Monira scored 627 to stand first in Women’s section and Diya Siddiqui became second with 573 score.
In the Recurve Ceded Under-17 Men section, 60 meter Prodeep Chakma became first in the ranking with 666 score out of 720 and Abdur Rahman Alif scored 660, stood second in the ranking. In Women’s category, Mosammot Iti Khatun scored 649 to became first in the category while Diya Siddiqui came second with 586 score.
In the Recurve Youngster Under-14 40-meter round in Men category, Abdur Rahman Alif scored 686 to beat Rakib Mia in the category to became first. Rakib from BKSP also scored 686 but stood second in this segment as he had to lose more arrow than Alif. And in the Women’s category, Mosammot Iti Khatun from BKSP scored 682 and became first in the ranking. In the second place Uma Singh Marma scored 666.
In the Under-20 Compound Men 50-meter Round ,Himu Bachar took first place and scored 693. In the Women Section, Pushpita Jaman scored 680.
Compound Caded Under-17 Men 50-Meter category, Himu Bachar scored 685 and in the Women’s section, Pushpita Jaman scored 682 to stand first in the ranking.
