Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Thursday conducted separate drives in the capital to knock down illegal establishments on the roads and footpaths for ensuring free movement of the pedestrians.

A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Sajid Anwar conducted a drive in the Mohammadpur area and pulled down more than 200 illegal establishments including makeshift shops and semi-concrete structures.

Besides, the mobile court also evicted a fair from Mohammadpur playground and took written statement from Mohmmadpur Club Playground committee as the club arranged the fair on the ground without any permission.

DNCC Panel Mayor Aleya Sarwar Daisy was present during the drive.

Meanwhile, another mobile court launched a drive in Farmgate area and evicted illegal hawkers from the foot-over-bridge. DNCC zonal executive officer Masud Hossain led the drive.
