AIUB hosts exhibition on local traditions

A special exhibition on local traditions, including food and other items, was held in Dhaka recently with a vow to create brand image of locally-made products in global market.

Marketing Department of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) organised the fair on its campus in the capital on Sunday.

AIUB Business School Dean Prof Charles C Villanueva inaugurated the exhibition where students showcased the locally-made foods and other traditional items.

Addressing the function, Prof Charles said the exhibition will support students in implementing the hands-on experiences of the traditional foods at the national level in future.

Major attractions of the fair included Rajshahi silk, sesame sweet (tiler khaja) of Kushtia, Rasmalai (sweet) of Cumilla, posset sweet of Brahmanbaria, banana from Narsingdi, loom-made sharee, sweet and Madhupur pineapple of Tangail, sweets from Munshiganj and Chandpur and curd of Bogura.
