Drug trader held with 1,585 Yaba pills

JAMALPUR: The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested a drug dealer with 1,585 Yaba pills from Charboalmari area from the bordering region of Kurigram’s Rowmari upazila on Sunday night, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Abu Hanif, 22, son of Md Nurul Haque, of Cengtapara village of Rowmari upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of BGB led a drive near border pillar No 1058/2 and arrested Abu Hanif and recovered 1,585 Yaba pills.

The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of Tk 475,500, said Lt Col SM Azad, commander of BGB-35.

Hanif was handed over to Rowmari Police Station, he added.
