Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Saturday said there is no scope to build a single structure in unplanned way as we want to take the country forward in a planned way.

The minister was addressing a rally at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University marking the World Town Planning Day-2019.  Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) organised the programme.

The minister said, “From now, no unplanned development to be allowed in the country. Constructions of any kind of structures have to be built in planned way.” The minister also said, “We want the civic amenities to be reached in rural level but the present government is working so that no structures are built and developed whimsically.”

He said, “The development of whole country will be done under a single master plan. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gives proper clear direction to follow the plan when even erecting structure on cultivable land and private land. We have taken action plan as per her direction.”

The planners have an important role to develop the county in modern and planned ways, the minister also said.

President of BIP, Professor AKM Abul Kalam, general secretary Adil Mohammed Khan, Vice-president Akther Mahmud, town planner of RAJUK Ashraful Islam and others joined the rally.
