Army chief meets Chinese defense minister

Chief of the Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, who is now in China, visited the National Defense University in Beijing on Tuesday.  

He later met commander of the People’s Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF) General Han Weiguo.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relation development, exchange of training, joint practice and ways to solve the Rohingya crisis.   

The army chief also called on Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fengh on Wednesday. At the meeting, they discussed various issues, including the development of the existing relations between Bangladesh and China, bilateral military cooperation and Rohingya issue.

General Aziz said China is very friendly to both Bangladesh and Myanmar. He urged the military leaders to come forward to solve the Rohingya problem.

He also visited the training programme of a Combined Brigade located in Beijing on Wednesday and another training programme of a Combined Brigade in Nanjing on Thursday.      

The army chief also met the Chinese defence industries delegation and discussed various issues.

Earlier on Monday, General Aziz met the top officials of Chinese Olympic Association. He discussed sending Chinese coach for Bangladesh games and scholarship in their sports university.
