The ‘Australia Bangladesh Trade Conference, 2019’ will be held in Sydney, Australia from November 13 to 15 for expanding bilateral trade and business between the two friendly nations.
Bangladesh High Commission to Australia, in association with the Australia Bangladesh Business Council (ABBC), is organising the conference for discussing potentials and challenges for greater bilateral economic interaction, reports BSS.
Ahead of the visit, Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Julia Niblett met Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Monday at his office, said a press release on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed the practical ways to improve understanding of opportunities in the business environment, to increase trade between Australia and Bangladesh.
“I’m pleased that the governments of Australia and Bangladesh are working together to further enhance the trade relationship”, said Niblett.
The High Commissioner hosted a reception on Tuesday for Bangladeshi businesses and delegates travelling to the trade conference and Australian companies operating in Bangladesh, to underline the growing potential for enhancing the commercial relationship.
Additional Secretary (Export) Tapan Kanti Ghosh attended the reception as the chief guest and highlighted Bangladesh’s strong economic performance and the prospective business opportunities arising from the Trade Conference.
