6th International Flight Safety seminar begins

A three-day seminar on ‘International Flight Safety’ began at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city on Monday.

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest while Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat and Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman Chairman were also present.

Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) jointly organised the seminar where the theme is “Team effort can ensure team safety”.

In his speech Dr hasan Mahmud said he expected that the participants with their rich experience and knowledge would be able to identify different challenges for improving flight safety standards which will eventually benefit all the stake-holders.

Military representatives from USA, Italy, China, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, Morocco, Nigeria,  Zimbabwe and Bangladesh took part in the seminar.

This year for the first time two regional members of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) participated in the seminar.
