Bashundhara Eye Hospital & Research Institute (BEHRI) administered free eye treatment to the visitors on the first day of the two-day event, Health Expo-2019, at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at Sher-e-Banglanagar in the capital on Monday.
The BEHRI, country’s one of the famous eye hospitals, is also offering special discount cards of different treatment facilities at the hospital for the visitors at its stall no. 8.A total of 52 institutions related to the health sector are participating in the expo. The two-day event also features several seminars intended for physicians. People can visit the stalls of different hospitals and other health related institutions free of charge.
“As part of our campaign, we are giving discount cards to the visitors of our stall. With the discount cards, the visitors can get 20 percent discount in surgery, 30 percent in investigation and 100 percent for first-time consultation at the outpatient department of our hospital. The discount card is valid until January 21, 2020,” Mohammad Ahsan Habib, Manager, Administration of the BEHRI, told the daily sun on Monday.
Renowned eye expert Dr. Mohammad Abdul Khaleque of Bashundhara Eye Hospital provided treatment to the visitors.
Mohammad Ahsan Habib further said a zakat fund is maintained by Vision Care Foundation from which the cost of eye treatment as well as medicines, spectacles and operation will be provided to the poor patients who are eligible to get zakat as per Islamic Shariah.
“Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute also carry out free cataract surgery on the eyes of poor patients at the hospital complex in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area. The hospital also organises free eye surgery campaign for the underprivileged people,” he added.
Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute is a modern and non-profit eye hospital which was established under the joint collaboration of Bashundhara Group and Vision Care Foundation, Bangladesh.The hospital has been serving patients at the outpatient department from April 2014 with huge modern diagnostic facilities. It has one of the most modern eye operating theaters in Bangladesh.
