The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will stage a demonstration across the country tomorrow, protesting the Bhola incident.

Terming the Bhola clashes as pre-planned, BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain made the announcement at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Monday.

BNP will stage protest programmes in metropolitan cities, including Dhaka, and district headquarters, he said.

The BNP policymaker also strongly condemned and protested the Bhola incident and demanded a fair investigation and exemplary punishment of the guilty.

“We think the Bhola incident is pre-planned. We want fair investigation into the incident and exemplary punishment of the guilty. I strongly protest and condemn the killing incident caused by firing of police indiscriminately on general people in Bhola,” he said.

Earlier on Sunday, at least four people were allegedly killed and many others injured in the clash following a demonstration at Eidgah ground in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola.
