CHATTOGRAM: Police arrested mother Hasina Begum and her lover for slaughtering her four-year-old daughter and husband in the city on Sunday.

Arrestee Hasina Begum slaughtered her child for noticing ‘unethical relationship’ with the lover Md Moinuddin and the duo later also slaughtered her husband Abu Taher.  Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operation) Amena Begum of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) disclosed these after arrest of the duo on Sunday afternoon.

Mentionable, Taher and his four-year-old girl Bibi Fatema were found dead at their house in the port city’s Nimtala area on Saturday. Taher’s wife used to work as a domestic help at others’ houses. On information, police rushed to the spot and found the throat-slit bodies of the duo.  After recovery of the bodies, police quizzed Hasina who at one stage admitted the killing, said the Additional Commissioner Amena.

Taher went out of the residence around 8:30am on that day. The child Fatema noticed ‘physical relationship’ between her mother and Mainuddin at that time and said to disclose it to her father.

After the incident, Mainuddin held Fatema and Hasina slaughtered her with a sharp weapon, said the police officer quoting Hasina. As Taher returned home after some time, they also strangled and slaughtered him, she said.

On information, police arrested Mainuddin from Noakhali district headquarters on Sunday early hours, she added.

Taher’s elder brother Nur Alam filed a case accusing Hasina and Mainuddin in this connection.
