Oikya Front top leaders intend to meet Khaleda

Jatiya Oikya Front top-ranking leaders led by its convener Dr Kamal Hossain will seek permission from the Home Minister to meet jailed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia immediately.

“Khaleda Zia is now in jail. The entire nation is worried as she may face any accident at any time. We have decided to meet Khaleda Zia led by Dr Kamal Hossain,” Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rob said.

He came up with the statements while talking to reporters after a meeting of the Oikya Front steering committee at the office of Dr Kamal Hossain, also president of Gana Forum, in Motijheel of the capital.

ASM Abdur Rob said they have made an announcement to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on October 22 in protest at the murder of BUET student Abrar, but they didn’t get permission yet.

“The government is dillydallying giving permission for the rally. If permission is not granted, then people will be compelled to press their demand,” he added.

The JSD chief said they will collect signatures from people from all social strata protesting against the Abrar killing.

Talking to reporters, Dr Kamal Hossain thanked Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon for his speech about the 11th parliamentary election.

Dr Kamal also demanded that the government allow them to hold the rally on October 22.
