Le Méridien Dhaka Comes Up With ‘Taste Of Jordan’

Inspired by the rich and modest tradition of Jordan, Le Méridien Dhaka has brought this distinctive cuisine for the urban people of Dhaka city. The event titled ‘Taste of Jordan’ began at Olea on October 17, 2019, and will run till October 31, 2019.

Within Jordan, mealtime is not a biological function, but, rather, a time of celebration. Food is a very important aspect of Jordanian culture. Besides, food is commonly used by Jordanians to express their hospitality and generosity. Guest Chef Ali Al-Fawadlah, Chef De Partie, Sheraton Amman Al-Nabil Hotel: Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, will entertain the food enthusiasts with his authentic Jordanian cuisines.

The Jordanian chef has a vast experience in preparing Jordanian cuisines. The chef is preparing the authentic Jordanian fine cuisine by using fresh ingredients and serving them with a twist of the gourmet.

A grand selection of delicacies is being presented for the guests to enjoy, starting with Za’atar, Cheese, and Labenah with Shatta, followed by appetizers of family-style cold and hot Mezze such as Hummus, Foul bi Zeit, Hara Salad (Spicy Jordanian Tomato Salad), Musakhan Rolls, Sajeyeh Halloumi with Lamb Meat, Mshat (Frittatas Cauliflower), Shorba (soup): Meatballs with Parsley (Lamb), and many more.

Then moving on to the main course, Jordan’s national dish, Mansaf will be served. This traditional Bedouin meal is cooked by cooking lamb with herbs in Jameed (dried yogurt) and is served with rice, pine nuts, and almond. Other dishes are Stuffed Chicken Roll with Fraikeh Gold Quail, Boneless Chicken with Steamed Spicy Barley, Sayadieh Fish with Tahini Sauce and Arabic Salad, Maqluba (Upside Down), and Shish Barak.

Accompanying these grand dishes, there will be an assortment of delicious Jordanian desserts such as Kunafe, Mutabak, Harissa, and Arabic Ice Cream. Finally, the entire meal will be served along with special Jordanian beverages such as Laban Aryan.

Additionally, there will be a raffle draw during this festival where guests can participate and one lucky winner can get a couple ticket for Dhaka-Sharjah-Dhaka.
