Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Saturday mourned the death of Ekushey Padak winner and renowned artist Kalidas Karmakar.
In a condolence message, Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman expressed his profound shock at the death of internationally-acclaimed artist Kalidas Karmakar, said a press release.The VC said Kalidas Karmakar’s artworks are modern and thought-provoking. His painting symbolically represents the connotations of our glorious Liberation War, various social phenomena and the life sketches of people, DU VC said.
Besides, Professor Akhtaruzzaman prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Kalidas Karmakar and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members of the deceased. Kalidas Karmakar died on Friday at the age of 73 following a cardiac arrest in the capital.
