Workshop on IT awareness held

A daylong workshop titled “IT Awareness for Female Students and Their Parents” was held at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) on Friday.

Under the joint auspices of DUCSU, ADB and IITSEC organised the event, said a press release.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the workshop as chief guest.

Presided over by Professor Dr Kazi Muheymin-Us-Sakib of DU Institute of Information Technology (IIT), the inaugural ceremony was was addressed by ADB Social Sector Specialist Ryotaro Hayashi, DU IIT Director Professor Dr Md Shariful Islam and Science and Technology Secretary of DUCSU Md Arif Ibne Ali as special guests.

Professor Dr Zerin Begum, Professor Dr Lafifa Jamal, Dr Naushin Nower, DMP DB ADC Mahmuda Afroz Lucky and ADB official Nasheeba Selim delivered lectures at different sessions of the workshop.

Eighty five female students from different colleges across the country, including the capital, and their parents participated at the workshop.
