Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hasan said that they have replaced two Divisional Team Head Coaches for not fielding a leg spinner in their playing eleven in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL), country’s traditional first-class tournament.

Dhaka Division Coach Mohammad Jahangir Alam have been replaced by Md Selim while Rangpur Divisional coach Masud Parvez Razon have been replaced by Jafrul Ehsan for the ongoing NCL.

BCB instructed coaches to field leg spinners in their playing eleven if there is a leg spinner in their squad but Jahangir defied their order despite several insistence by BCB and even after having Jubair in his squad he did not field him in the opening two games of NCL.

While Jahangir kept Jubair in his squad, Rishad Hossain was not even considered in the 14-member squad of Rangpur Division and this incident was noticed by BCB President Nazmul Hasan.

BCB President said on Thursday that BCB has summoned the coaches as they failed to field players as per their direction.

“We have summoned the two Divisional coaches for not fielding leg spinners in NCL,” Nazmul told reporters on Thursday.

“If we don’t let them bowl, how would they improve. They don’t get any opportunity in any tournament. So we are working on it,” he said.

“I don’t know why it happens even in NCL. We are talking so much about leg spinners, we have not fielded Rishad and Likhon yet in NCL,” he said.

‘’Why they are not in playing eleven despite being selected for the team. It’s frustrating to see our orders not being followed up,” told Papon.

“We have asked two coaches to explain why they did not field leg-spinner even after receiving the instruction. They must answer. We have called them. If we don’t let them play, how would they improve,” he said.

BCB had recently made a similar move in BPL which mandated every team to field a leg-spinner.
