Terming killed BUET student Abrar Fahad as a great patriot of the time, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday said their party has expressed solidarity with all demands of the protesting students.

“Abrar is a great patriot of the time. He has won the death through sacrificing his life for the country. The young man will remain as main inspiration of fight to protect independence and sovereignty of the country. He is the flag of our heart,” he said.

The BNP leader made the statement while addressing a press briefing of the party at its central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan.

“No one has right to get right due of Bangladesh. Abrar was an offender to ruling Awami League as he placed true history of behavior of Awami League’s friendly country to Bangladesh. That’s why he had to give life,” he said.

Rizvi said the government is taking different ‘tactics’ in a bid to stop the students as protest procession, human chain, protest meeting and anti hegemony slogans are going on campuses of the country after the brutal killing of the meritorious student. Tthe government has become desperate to ‘divert’ the attention elsewhere.
