Enabling smart city

Zhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment (ZTE) Corporation has introduced smart city solution to improve people’s living standard.

The Chinese technology giant aims to transform the municipal government from management-oriented to service-oriented, which means the overnment can quickly respond to emergencies.

Besides, the solution will also bring a relieve urban problems such as traffic jam and environmental pollution and build up a sound municipal economy structure,.

The service may improve citizens’ sense of well-being and security, achieving harmonious and sustainable development and enhancing regional influence.

Smart City is such a system that is a new model of city planning, construction, management, and service and is indispensable for solving above problems.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina envisioned the Digital Bangladesh programme a decade ago which is now leading the country towards a knowledge-based economy.

Bangladesh has the vision to transform different cities including Dhaka and Khulna into smart ones.

It means there will be improvement of services, such as solid waste management, road-footpath-median, street lights, markets, traffic signals, parks, playgrounds, graveyards-cemeteries, community centers, gymnasium, library, mosquito control, food and sanitation, EPI and disinfection activities, city beautification activities and  introduce some advanced technologies into all aspects of the city, which can make life easier for citizens.
