A day-long workshop on ‘Investment in Share Market’ was held at Chittagong Independent University (CIU) in the city’s Jamal Khan area on Monday.

‘Intrinsic Finance Club’ of the university organised the workshop sponsored by Lanka Bangla Securities Limited.

General Manager and Regional Head Md Amir Hossain of the Lanka Bangla Securities Limited was the chief guest at the workshop.

Addressing the workshop, the chief guest emphasised the need for hard-work to make profit from the share market.

“Everybody will also have to change the mindset of becoming rich overnight through the stock business,” he observed.

‘Intrinsic Finance Club’ Adviser Dr Syed Manjur Quader said they organised the workshop to teach the students about addressing the risk during investment in share market as investors need to know it.

“We are committed to introduce the students with practical knowledge beside the academic books,” he said.

Associate Professor Dr Emon Kallyan Chowdhury of CIU Business School presided over the programme while Lanka Bangla Senior Manager Anwar Shahadat, Manager Dipak Kumar Palit, Senior Officer Md Tamzid Ullah and Koushik Biswas were present among others.

Different aspects of the primary analysis of share market, formation, types of investment, portfolio, brokerage house and BO accounts were discussed by trainers at the workshop.

Dr Emon also handed over a crest to the chief guest on behalf of the club members at the programme.
