It was the bus conductor, not the driver, who ran over singer and music director Parvez Rob and killed him.

Detective Branch (DB) of North Division under DMP disclosed the information on Saturday after arresting the bus conductor on Friday.

A team of the DB (north) arrested driver Mohammad Sumon from Masdair under Fatullah in Narayanganj and conductor Akhter Hossain from Dinara in Naria of Shariatpur.

On September 5, a bus (Dhaka Metro-B-12-0963) of Victor Classic Paribahan ploughed into Parvez Rob in front of East West Medical College in Dhaur of Turag in the capital.

Mashiur Rahman, deputy commissioner of DB (north), said that Akhter was driving the bus recklessly while Sumon was sitting next to him during the accident.

The police officer said Akhter had no driving licence.

After seven days of the death of Parvez Rob, another bus of Victor Classic knocked down his son Yasir Alvi and his friend Mehedi Hasan in Uttara.  Of them, Mehedi died.

Meanwhile, a court here on Saturday placed the driver and the conductor of a 'Victor Classic Paribahan' bus on a 2-day remand each over the death of singer and music composer Parvez Rob in a road accident on September 5.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Mahmuda Aktar passed the order when investigation officer of the case Rashidul Islam, an inspector of Detective Branch (DB), submitted a petition seeking 10-day remand for each.
