Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Saturday said the drives against corruption and irregularities will continue and those who are involved in misdeeds will not be spared.

“If anyone is found involved in wrongdoing, crime and corruption, the person will be brought to justice on the basis of evidence,” he said.

The minister was talking to journalists after attending a freshers’ reception programme at North South University in the capital.

The law enforcers are conducting drives after monitoring activities of those who are doing corruption, breaking the rules and abusing power, he said.

“Those who are involved in immoral acts are being arrested on the basis of evidence,” he added.

About Jubo League leader GK Shamim, the home minister said how GK Shamim got the job of the government project is a separate matter. He is facing trial for all the allegations brought against him. If there are further allegations against him, those will be examined one by one.

He said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sees corruption as a challenge in establishing good governance in the country. That is why under her direction, we are conducting a series of drives against corruption.”

“Where there are corrupt and law breakers, they will be brought to justice. No one will be able to escape. This is our commitment,” the minister said.
