DNCC’s combing operation to tackle dengue goes on

Dhaka North City Corporation on Thursday conducted combing operation for the fifth day to destroy breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito at the residences and establishments in its 36 wards.

During the second phase of the drive, DNCC teams inspected around 10,212 residences and establishments, found Aedes mosquito larvae in 39 residences and establishments and put up cautionary stickers.

The teams also found ideal environments for mosquito breeding in around 6,049 residences and establishments and destroyed it.  

During the drive, led by executive magistrate Julkar Nayon, the team also fined the owner of a building Tk 50,000 after finding Aedes mosquito larvae in his establishment in the capital’s Uttara sector-2 area.

Ward councilors of the respective wards supervised the drives.
